COVID 19 has taught us many things but the most important, in my opinion, is the value of a life and more so a healthy life. Studies have shown that individuals who are healthy have a higher chance of surviving when faced with the Corona virus than those with a pre-existing condition. Besides being adequately nourished nutrient wise another vital aspect that has come to light is the power of Positive thinking.
Studies have shown that individuals who have a positive outlook have better chances of recovering than those who have a negative outlook. Numerous studies have been conducted that link a better immunity with positive thinking. This translates into better infection fighting capability. Positive thoughts have the power to increase the production of happy hormones and stress reducing hormones which aid in boosting immunity.
One of the biggest weapons in the fight against COVID 19 has been following sanitization procedures, taking all precautions and a strong immunity.
Diet is an important consideration in boosting immunity and thus it is advised to consume foods rich in Vitamins C, D, E as well as Beta carotene and Zinc. Each of these nutrients has a specific role to play in boosting the immunity of our bodies.
Besides consuming beneficial foods, a proven way to boost the immunity is by “eating positive thoughts” and channelizing the inner energy into positive constructive force.
It therefore becomes very important to purge ourselves of toxic thoughts and inhale fresh positive thoughts. Flooding our bodies and hearts with feelings of love, compassion, hope, joy and happiness while showing negative feelings of jealousy, selfishness, distress and pride would help create an energised force inside us which would aid in leading healthy lives with a sound body and sound mind.
